It takes precious time to research all that we’re meant to be keeping up with as mums. It really does right? So what are the simple things that folk do to keep in good shape and feel good without following the latest strict diet or fitness regime…Over the years I’ve found it really useful to note down some healthy tricks that could help me feel better whilst doing all of the stuff I’m meant to be doing! I’m definitely not a health fanatic and I don’t stick to a certain diet or deny myself treats. I have simply found that if I try to enjoy what I’m doing most of the time and use a few helpful healthy routines, snacks or recipes…then feeling good will just come alongside this! I don’t want to sound smug…but not even I could believe that I could drink coffee without milk or even entertain the idea of green tea or ‘dark chocolate’…what? That’s not chocolate…give me a bar of dairy milk if i’m having any please!! In all seriousness though, once we’ve created a habit it takes time to re-wire ourselves to behave in a different way and this is exactly what I’ve been trying to do as a mum getting over a few of the stressful moments in my life which ultimately made me feel pretty poorly on most days. Now we can all relate to having stressful things going on in our lives at different points (or lots of points:0) but that unfortunately doesn’t come in to how well we look after ourselves. Our body has no appreciation for this…it just behaves in the way we treat it. So the trick is how to encourage our bodies to follow really easy routines to better equip ourselves, especially when we can be going through rock bottom. I’ve always had a keen interest in nutrition and love looking out for healthy foods and routines and how they can help me feel better. If you want to come on this journey with me I’d love to share with you some healthy tips that I’ve found useful from my journey as a pharmacist, to a mother, and a woman of a certain age wanting to make sure that I equip my body with all of the best tools I can to avoid paying a ridiculous amount in health and beauty products when entering the menopause and beyond. I hope you can resonate with how I feel and I look forward to sharing with you all of my little ‘go to’s’ and pieces of useful information that I’ve learned so far! Happy mum’ing and please share with me any health tips that you’ve come across on your journeys too!
